Sumedhu,

I think you are a racist and a pessimist, because you said the Gurkhas fought others' wars. NO madam, they fought the war for humanity, rights, freedom and peace and most importantly for the right cause on the right side. Don't even get started on the British part, they've given much freedom to all those immigrants than they get in their own countries, ask your Indonesian friend. BTW don't trust them much, there's a lot of scandals Indonesian people had just for money. At least, the Gurkhas didn't steal, betray or looted anyone. And I don't think the Gurkhas were slaves or they are now. They were professionals with their skills. Please do a research on how the world economy works. According to you, all the people in the world must be slaves for one another coz people work for one another, with one another. I just wonder if you have a job? If you do then you are a slave right. How many times have you been slaves working in other countries? If these people have not done that(including the soldiers from the other countries), you would have been working and being tortured everyday in one of those concentration camps for the Nazis or the Japanese(that's the real slave ok). By the way, what do you think happens in a war? They don't have a ball dance around a barbeque fireplace with their enemies out there. You don't even have a time to think, it's DO or Die. What kind of people goes to war?  Armed forces and believe me, if they get the first chance, they will make sure you die with a lot of pain. Might be, these people were not brave but if I were you, I would not discourage or dishearten the ones who has been inspired to battle everydays' life difficulties with their courageous history. Yes, Gurkhas did kill ruthlessly, but they killed the EVIL ones to free the good ones and you are one of them. If you shed your tears for the Nazis, good for you.
