If I understand correctly,  the Nobel Committee does not disclose the complete list of nominees so I guess we wont know if there were more deserving candidates nominated this year and who they all were.

The Nobel committee has in the past made statements with it's awards, and peace being a subjective thing, I suppose  they have a lot of leeway and wiggle room when it comes to justifying their choice.

That said, I don't know if there were more deserving people, but Al Gore certainly wasn't undeserving of it either IMO regardless of what I see as minor blemishes on his record.
