The Forum will take out a car rally in Greater Shillong area on Friday at 3 pm in this connection. The car rally will start from Parking Lot, Polo. He further said that the SAMLF had already requested all the citizens of the State to contact their relatives and friends, who are settled, serving or studying in different parts of the country, to vote for Amit adding that the Forum, in its capacity, has started sending publicity materials to other states. Mr Das said that the Forum has opened its office at Urban Shopping Complex, Police Bazar (Room No 18) from where publicity materials will be distributed all the over the State and the rest of the country. He also informed that the Forum had negotiated with the mobile service providers in the State to improve their services in the coming week to ensure smooth flow of votes. He said a delegation of SAMLF had also met the CGMT BSNL, Shillong and requested him to improve the landline service by opening more pipe/channel for the coming week during the voting hours. Moreover, he said that if prepaid recharge coupon are available from Aircel and Airtel then fans of Amit and volunteers of the Forum will be asked to bring their mobile set to send SMS for Amit in one place or hall as identified by the Forum. "No recharge coupon will be issued to any individual to use the same at home," Mr Das said.Further, he added that since the response in greater Shillong is spontaneous, and more than expectation, the Forum decided to concentrate its attention to other districts of the State through various NGOs, clubs and organisations. Meanwhile, the Meghalaya Gorkha Welfare Union, the State President, the NCP Women's Wing NM Warjri, the All India Garo Union extended their best wishes to Amit Paul while acknowledging the initiative taken by the Government in conferring him as brand ambassador for peace, communal harmony and excellence.
