Series of explosions in Kathmandu, at least two dead, over 2 dozen injured Kantipur Report KATHMANDU, Sept 2 - A series of bomb explosions rocked Kathmandu at around 4:30 pm Sunday. The bombs went off simultaneously at busy market places at Tripureshwor, Sundhara and Balaju. Explosions have also been reported in Kalimati and Kirtipur. However, the report is yet to be verified independently. Two people have been confirmed dead when a bomb went off at a bus stop in front of the United World Trade Center at Tripureshwor. “The explosion ripped apart one person while around 7 to 8 persons were injured,” said Ram Pariyar, a bus driver who was an eyewitness to Tripureshwor explosion. The injured include six school children. Two passenger buses were also partially damaged in the explosion. Two more are feared dead at an explosion in a microbus in front of a police post in Balaju. 14 injured in Balaju, four in a critical condition. A girl was critically injured when a bomb went off at Tudikhel-Sundhara area. All the injured have been rushed to the emergency ward and trauma center at the Bir Hospital. No one has taken the responsibility for the explosions so far. Kathmandu Valley Police Chief SP Sarvendra Khanal said that they were still investigating the case. Nobody has been arrested so far.
