RC Nepal is a NEW joke and SCAM TOPIC among Nepalis living in US. How would you get rid of it? The company employs young kids who does not know the US standard. Here are a few tips: 1. Ask the caller their proof of genuine-ness of the company. US counter part. 2. BBB symbol in their website. 3. Link between RohiyaLohit or LohitRohiya or Puja Soap Maker or whatever. There should be URL Link. 4. At the end of the web page (at bottom), the copy right notice should include company not the website builders. If this is a genuine company. 5. No Post Box address please. Physical address. They asked me to send my relatives to their office to verify their real presence in real world .... Why the hell would I ask my relatives to their office. 6. The biz community in nepal needs to create bureau that provides GENUINE-NESS of a company. It should be accountable, and it should work to resolve problems faced by public, and should pull its trigger and fire on those who do not comply to their rules and regulations: remove their name from the list. It should be truly professional: daju bhai sala bhena ko company does not matter. Otherwise, it will be another source of running scam by relatives of employees or officers or executives affiliated to this organization. Nepal needs such an independent body. Wow, we Nepalis want to run biz, but seek such organization be sponsored by govt. ..... What a F mentanlity do we have. Such govt. sponsored bureau means more corruptions and less efficient. These biz house should create for them, only thing they should ask govt is to punish the frauds. Well, we love communism when it comes to investing money from govt., and we love capitalism when it comes to profitting. We have to select one of them. I would prefer to have capitalism type of biz model. Biz house should develop BBB tupe of bureau to control fraud companies and to honor good service providers, and also credit bureau's to identify a cheating customer from great honorable customer. 7. These phony kids tell you 1 800 number of the company for complains. That means it has a link to US, and it is where we can make a complain if you are not satisfied with their service. It can help to close fake 1 800 help number. 8. Just hang up the phone number. These kids even don't know your name, what they know is family name probably obtained from SuperPages.com or verizon's yellow book. 9. Just tell them that you will do research and act accordingly. I don't have time at this moment, and I will do it in future. Hang up. Who cares! 10. Learn to tackle the sitaution. Talk and talk, but don't leak: your name, phone number (cell), your id, your work place, your address.... don't release your credit card or SSN, NOT at ALL. Talk if you have time. Don't get angry. Just talk. Talking too much means wasting their time, not letting them make any money out of your talk. You can lie to him: Hey I don't have credit card. You know, in 1997 when Who's Who in the Word published my information (they told to me they have already scheduled thats why they were calling), they asked me 1000 dollars for the Who's Who in world directory of the year. I talked to a lady (in an international phone call) for about hour. She was tryin to convince me to release her my credit card number at that moment. I did not bend and release. I told her that "I don't have credit card". She asked me to find a friend. I told her "I can not ask my friend". She asked me to ask my boss / colleague / or even my bank to send money by telegraph. .... She even asked me, "What kind of person you are?". Yes, it is me. Finally, she gave up. I am not sure whether my name was published or not in the directory, but after that I got so many other offers to publish my name in Who's who in ....I just realized what are these Who's who in ..... When I see Who's who in some young researcher's office or house, I just laugh at these poor fellows who paid $xx to get that plaque where you can publish as many times as you want as long as you are willing to pay $xx for the plaque. One of colleague was publicized that s/he got published for 12 consecutive years. Hahahaha.... what a joke (to me). I don't believe in such paid Who's who in the world stuffs. They are just trapps. So, you should make your own criteria where to pay and where not to pay. Do some research. Study is the best solution to such problems. You study more, you learn more, you avoid being trapped frequently in this greedy world. There are biz tricks to fool poor guys like us: BS stuffs in BIG bold characters, and important disclaimer in small asterik character in a corner. If you fail to assume that there is note (underline note) such as ASTERIK somewhere in the notice, then you are certainly a target victim of SCAM. Last week, I slapped a guy from SPRINT, who told me over phone that "you are selected for free ....", and I asked him how many people got such free stuffs? He said "Only you". I again asked him, why would you offer me such great thing in free of charge, who am I? He said it is lottery. Then, I asked him why would someone offer me such free thing? How will get your salary? .... After volleying several minute, he said we are offering few phone free to our customers.... Finally, he told me that all those who were called were offered such free stuffs. Then, I asked him what is your clause .... tell me the terms and conditions. Can I quit any time? Nope, sign for two years? What a BS. Finally, he apologized and left the phone with "I am sorry to distrub you". Well, I do such research / studies when I am free, and need to learn how to tackle these scammers. Well, everyone else in my home asks me why can not you simply hang up, my answer to them is why should I ? I am getting free of charge discussion forum, and a masala. I am losing Nothing other than my free time. I enjoy it. One of the recent such free talk was with NirvanaTEL, and I consumed their morethan half hour phone time. This is the only way you can discourage them. Let me tell you another way I participate in discouraging these scammers. When I get CREDIT CARD offers, what I do is that I tear the offer and pack it inside their prepaid envelope and return to them. At least, USPS will get paid. If millions of people put their objection the way I mentioned above, I am sure the corporate trick will reduce to minimum level. Enjoy talking to them over phone. Don't release your information. Tell them that if it is free send anything you wish even your SH## to my mail box, I don't care.
