Problem101, if your H1B is for college, university, or research institutes and some non-profit organizations (which are exempt from quota), then you can start working from 06/01/07. If you applied through one of the quota limited category and intended to start working from 10/01/07, it might be an error on the part of USCIS. Better talk to your attorney.
