Sndy: Isn't treatment of Dhana Bahadur by the family the central theme of the narration, so far? By relegating it to "nitty/gritty aspect", aren't you in effect saying - yeah the treatment of the servant kind-of-sucks, but the narration is great - lets enjoy the narration. I agree with nepalonmymind - it is an excellent social commentary.
