I have healthy respect for Hinduism, but some of these claims go way over board, in my opinion. Just the other day, a friend of mine was claiming that there were airplanes in Hindu world, aka bharatbarsha, thousands of years before Wright Brothers invented one. Case in point, he said quite emphatically, Ravan's bimaan on which he abducted Sita. I said, c'mon, do you seriously believe that? He was still adamant but slightly conciliatory. Well, even if there was no Ravan ko bimaan, the architectural design of an airplane was already thought of by rishi intellectuals of old Hinduism. It is mentioned in one of the holy books, he continued, that a bimaan should have Vaayu (air) under the wings and agni (fire) under its belly and it will fly. Yeah right. It is one thing to say that you need Vaayu under the wings and agni under its belly while it is vastly another to design a jet engine. So, unless you are one of those twisted dumbass Hindu fundamentalist, you should be quite hard pressed to believe any of these crap.
