Keeri_naath I respect your feelings and I believe that you have a right to stand what you believe for. Unfortunately, that’s exactly where my problems biguns. I can stand a communist beside me, but communists would shoot anyone who opposes them. Don’t you feel that we both should have mutual respect for each other? Why do you think you should shoot me in return for my respect for you? Second, I never had a chance to read the whole Communist Manifesto or Das Capital, but I have read enough to know what you are trying to say. Marx talked about a bourgeois revolution, but he also talked about stages to communism, where communism can be achieved only passing through capitalism. If you are a Marxist then you let things go the way they are. Marx was a political economist, and therefore was concerned about the common man. I am not sure if he ever preached the theory of killing a fellow human being. From there you go to Lenin and Mao who were devils in disguise. Hungry for power and were ready to kill as many needed so that they could get all power for themselves. Look at their power structure, and you would find that the dictator is as good as a ‘living god’. For example Lenin killed 9 million between 1904 and 1924 to achieve his motives. Another problem with Leninism and Maoism is they want their guy to be respected as gods, and that’s where we don’t come into terms with them. The problems start from the societal level, and it goes through anthropology to economic and psychology (religion included). We have a society, so we don’t want theirs. We have an economy and don’t have any respect for a command economy. We have gods and we don’t think communism will serve our purpose (we have 84 lacks of them, is it?). Prachanda is a terrorist to us and therefore can never serve as a living god. Psychologically, we want to be independent and are jealous to see Prachandaa’s or Mao’s face on walls. We would whitewash them as many times they stick that gay picture of prachanda on our walls. Anthropologically, we have a king, and we have been observing him as a supreme authority for ages. Just throwing out the structure doesn’t make sense either. Having said that, give me one valid reason why you want communism? If its for equality then we know that communism fails to give people equality (even economic). Then what is it that you like about communism?
