Wait for a second here! This is a lively discussion on a very simple issue. I would say there are NO rules only expectations that the both parties would follow what is agreed upon (poor McCartney thought that pre-nup was unromantic, Big Mistake!) or what society expects before the marriage was solemnized, like the good old parable, "Do unto others as you would want others to do unto you."
