When the baby cries out of hunger, Suntali Maya Chepang, 22, tries to breast feed the baby, but in vain. Extreme poverty and lack of food has caused ill health of both the mother and the baby. No different is the story of other nursing mothers at the squatters' area at Ramantar at Manahari VDC-3. They were displaced due to flood last year. Showing the pathetic condition of her new born baby, Suntali Maya said, "My baby cries for milk, but how can I breast feed when my own body does not have enough food." In search of more medicinal herbs to feed his wife and baby, Suntali's worried husband has gone to the jungle of Parsa Wildlife Conservation. Until he comes back, Suntali has only a bowl of rice to eat. This is the third time she has become a mother.
