The security personnel
were directed to strictly
search MPs after the recent furore
in the media over a Maoist MP,
Lokendra Bista, entering parliament
with a gun. The security personnel
scrupulously followed instructions;
not one MP was spared
the security check.
But the Maoist MPs protested the
security check. They stood across
the road at the Southern gate of
Singhdurbar for about an hour demanding
that they be allowed in
without a security check. Like
umpteen dramas this drama ended
when the security personnel let
them enter without being subjected
to security check. The security personnel,
again, obeyed orders; this
time from “high quarters.â€
