. lets be clear we all know that if it came down to a nationwide referendum, nepal would certainly remain a 'hindu country'. although im pretty sure the actual numbers would shock those who would believe that 90% of nepal is hindu however, democracy is as much about the protection of the rights of the minority as it is about the rule of the majority. and saying that we are a hindu country means we are according all non-hindu citizens a second class status why should they have to suffer this indignity?
