I surely would love to help. When I was a member of Leo Club back home we adopted a small village not that far from Kathmandu. What we use to do is we use to build them what they are in need of. Like School, play ground, workshop for adults, health care etc. Small things but with effective way we use to organize and full fill what they are lacking of. This will help them and us to get the good out put in many ways. We never gave them money and we should not do that. If we are educating children then we should let them have what they need to get educate and make sure that parents will never interfere when it comes to there education (as some of the parents make children work as adults. Like getting water more than what they can carry, wash cloths etc.) If we are helping adult people then we should know what there ability and in what they are good so that they can earn and be independent rather than, they start expecting the money from the donors and live a lazy life and trust me there are people who enjoys donors money and do nothing but enjoy the day playing cards and drinking and surely abusing women. There are so many things that we can do if we come together like AIDS awareness is one of them which is getting worst day by day. If we don’t educate this AIDS on the first hand it is of no use helping anyone as it will be too late to do what we are planning to do. If this gets infected to the parents and the baby they get. All the work that we do surely will go in vain. So we need to get focus on what we plan to do and priorities as what is important so that the rest plan falls in the system to see progress. Rather jumping everywhere and getting nowhere. Any suggestion and help….I’m in!
