You need to file tax. Period. How? Use 1040 NR or 1040 NR EASY. Look all the documents such as W-2 and any scholarships or assistance you received from school. Check them if they are taxable. Come up with the taxable income and pay taxes if you owe or ask for refund if your withholding was more than your taxable income. Will the IRS come after you? Next time if your tax is one of the lucky one they audit a few every year, they will. Even not, you yourself have to be responsible and file taxes. If you have missed once, you can still file, if you owe them, then you have to pay penalty and some interest. If you get refund, no big deal, they will send you back.
