EMT,shorting in a bull market is also profitable in most instances because of the 'knee jerk' reactions most inflated securities bring time and time again (a slight drop triggers a selloff, pushing prices down momentarily before it corrects itself). not that I find any fault with taking advantage of that- I do it myself with small parts of my portfolio. but the trick is correctly anticipating the drop and cashing out in time- if you are doing this succesfully more often than not, more power to you. I just dont think it is wise for beginners to get into that type of investing.
