Things you should know in US

The arrest of Nepali person for chatting up with 15 year old girl reminds me of how lots of nepalis living in the US takes things lightly. US is land of opportunity and land of the free until you get caught doing illegal things. There are many things which are considered illegal and you might be taking it too lightly. It might mess your life up if you are not careful about these things. Here are somethings that you should not take too lightly 1. Law about minors: US is very strict about your behaviour with minors. - Don't chat with underage girls, if you find out that the person you are chatting is underage then dont. - Buying ciggerettes or alcohol for minors. It might seem like a harmless thing to do because they would get it somehow anyways, but if something happens to a minor when they are drunk or if they get arrested for any reason, they will get to you and you are in deep shit. All your dreams of greencard and american dreams will be over before you know it. Most likely you will be imprisoned too. So don't do favors for your underage friends/acquaintances and risk everything you have 2. Law about drugs: Be very careful about possessing drugs at any time. If you get caught with an amount that is considered 'enough' for distribution, then you get screwed. You can say bye bye to your american dream and hello to prison. Lot of times doing drugs like marijuana might seem harmless among friends or to carry some in your pocket but if you happen to get caught then it's not going to have a happy ending. If you are a driver and your car gets stopped and one of your passenger is in possession of drugs, you might be liable for it. - Another important thing that Nepalis don't think about too much is the fact that if you have guests over at your house and they get really drunk. If they drive home and get into an accident you will be charged heftily. You might even have to do time depending on the severity of the accident. -- feel free to add more
