Hi All, Bishwa Niketan had some amazing teachers and a long record of outstanding academic excellence. I herad that the school went downhill after 1990, though its private wings including "Plus 2" and undergraduate programs flourished. I do not know the complete politics but some how the "sarkari" part of vishwa niketan lost its once glorious credibility. Amazingly, It now boasts tall concrete buildings and a brand name strong enough to have regional campuses. It is not that I have anything against Vishwa niketan embracing the open market policy that has metamorphosed our educational system, both in good and bad ways. I am just deeply saddened by the fact that the school which once was affordable to general people yet had an excellent academic achievements is a mere history now. Folks, please enlighten me if I am ill informed about the recent days of Bishwa niketa-the sarkari school. I wish I was wrong about it.
