my dad also started job as a section officer after his B.Sc. he was always very clean. I know how difficult it is to survive with just one person's salary. he could not afford us to send to schools in ktm, so we studied in rural area where he used to work. He did his masters and later became 1st class officer. it was about 15 years ago when he became 1st class office and the salary was about 7000. we started living in ktm. i know how tough it is. we never had luxurious life. my father tried to give us whatever he could but never involved in any kind of corruption activities. he is a technical person still so sometimes he used to work in some projects where he used to earn more. he used to visit foreign countries for seminar and thats how he manage to save some money and brought us stuffs. he is about to retire now and his salary is about 10-12000 i guess, not sure. my family are still strugglign with such kind of money to survive in ktm. what he taught us is discipline, and he tried to gave us best education that he could afford. i never had more than 3 pairs of clothes and 2 pairs of shoes until i complete my engineering. This is typical middle class house in ktm whose parents dont involve in bribes. I have seen people who are like in small posts and with lower education but still manage to build nice tall bulding and send thier kids to good school. I used to think like why my father can not do this, later i realise its all corruption and that is what my dad never did, otherwise no one in nepal can make such houses with govt salary. I am proud of my father and his commitment towards his work and country. I hesitate to go back to nepal to serve but he did. hats off to you.
