Dear Members of our community, It is with much sorrow and a profound sense of loss that we are informing you of the demise of Mr. Kisendra Shahi. He ceased to breathe while undergoing treatment in Parkland Hospital Dallas and left behind a grieving wife and two young and aching sons. Let us pray for the peaceful journey of Mr. Shahi's soul and let us come together to soothe the family of the deceased in these most difficult of times. Please extend your support to the family of Major Shahi in his funeral services tomorrow. Mr.Kisendra Shahi (October 10, 1962 – October 29, 2006) was a remarkable man with unparallel achievements. During just 44 years of his life, Mr. Kisendra Shahi had not only set a record in the Guinness book of World record but also saved lives. Major Shahi was in the Nepal Army and was highly recognized (1995). He had achieved basic pilot training FAA from Fort Worth (1982); and had achieved his Advanced pilot training from French Air Force and Royal UK. He had performed his famed mountain rescue in 1993 and was awarded Gajendra Moksha Padak by Late King Birendra. In 1992 Major Shahi was also decorated with Gorkha Dakshin Bahu. In addition, Major Shahi had saved the then Prime Minister Man Mohan Adhikari with a helicopter rescue in 1995 and was decorated with Kirtimaya Nepal Shreepad for that admirable feat. Mr. Kisendra Shahi is a national hero who wrote Nepal's name in the Guinness Book of World Records for performing a highly improbable rescue and beating technical failure of a helicopter to be the sole pilot who survived himself and saved his crew. Mr. Kisendra Shahi has left his grieving family but let us not make them feel alone. He let our country known to the world so let us respect his soul in his final rites. Let us extend our condolences and help to his bereft wife Mrs. Bandana Shahi and his two sons. Let us come to the funeral services and pay tribute to our national hero who will be much missed: Funeral Service: Hughes Funeral Home 9700 Webb Chapel Rd Dallas, TX 75220 Time: 11.00 A.M Date: October 31, 2006
