Aaarrrrggghhhh!!! I wish I could be vegetarian. But I am not. Shame on me. I like to eat meat, so it might sound bit hypocritical when I speak against animal sacrificing during dashain. Lot of Nepalis, well not so much in Kathmandu, get to eat meat only during Dashain and other major festivals. It does not makes sense for a person like me, who eats meat almost everyday, to tell them to stop. But, I wish there was another way, a better non-violent way. Perhaps a negligible step: My family stopped this bloody ritual about a decade and half ago. We do not sacrifice any animals at any festivals. We also wear white tika rather than red tika during Dashain, just to symbolize non-violence.
