Sounds asif it`s a real story. I have seen a student whom I helped find BagBazar in the 90`s. He was just like OK has described here. He was looking for his Kaka ko dera (subba in an office in Kathmandu), where he said he would stay for a week (looking for admission in a college), and go back to his village in Bhojpur. A year later, I saw him studying in ASCOL(Biology group). He was so happy to see me there, and thanked for what I did for him a year ago. Three years later, I saw him listed in the merit list of Ministry fo Education for scholarship. I can`t remember which subject he was selected for scholarship.
