My definition of true love is rather different. I wouldn't say it's selflessness. Ofcourse, you do everything to satisfy your own interest. But when the other person becomes the part of your life, when you cannot even imagine your life without the person, then? Ofcourse course love is give and take and it can never grow from one side. I'd say it is co-dependency. If you're not co-dependent, then it might look like contract to one. If there is no emotional need of the other person, then it will look like a social contract. Love is the potion that increases happiness :) We see so many bad incidents on the news each day, but does it affect our daily activity? But when something bad happens to our loved ones, we do get very anxious and very concerned. I'd call that love. :)...like our country is under turmoil and I do get very concerned, is it love or out of selfishness? You can put it either way i guess. But if you say that love is selfishness to a layman then the meaning could be taken in completely opposite way...in literal terms...because literal meaning of selfishness is thinking only about oneself. but when in love, you do think about your loved ones. you would be happy if your parents were happy....the case would be different if you had fight with them..hehehe........ Even the poor MMN seems to love nepal and is trying very hard to change minds of people. But little does he know about the facts and figures of nepal and is irritating/entertaining people out here... hehehe...
