A clash erupted between the Kapan locals and the police after the former accused some police personnel of being involved in looting the house of one Kusan Sherpa on Sunday evening. Though the locals seized two alleged looters and handed them over to the police yesterday itself, they later surrounded the police office asking the duo be released so that they could themselves punish them and charged the police themselves being involved in the looting. The police had to fire shots in the air to disperse the mob after the locals started ransacking the police office. A total of 35 police personnel (nine from the Nepal Police and 26 from the Armed Police Force) were stationed at the post under the Bouddha Ward Police Office.
