IMI, You were talking about some different roadmap to peace, from a royalist perspective which would take us to the peace without any more cost of lives of Army, Police, and people. But, I think your roadmap is not different from mine, SPA's and people's roadmap. Only on the first point that you have outlined, people like you, an ultra-royalist, and me, pro-democrat are divided. Since king is virtually still powerful, politicians and most people doubt that the king will sincerely walk on SPA's roadmap though he agreed through his announcement which ended the Janaandolan II. Let me put it more clearly: Girija knows that the king will not obey the peoples mandate issued from CA if it comes out against monarchy. This is the reason why he was talking about giving the king ceremonial role so that the king becomes quite and recent limited developments of empowing people could be secured without any problem and also those such as restructing the state through CA can be implemented. But, Maoists do not want to do that beforehand , since it was their main agenda during their fight against the state. They have been demanding that the king's fate be decided by CA election. Other parties were/are always agendaless (though they sometimes bark) and they can be bought by the king or the Maoists at any time using 'Sam and Dam' as you mentioned above. Whole world know that Nepalese people can not and should not believe the king because of the current army generals under him (Perbez Musaraf le ta bidroha garyo bhane Gyanendra ko ta Army/Police heads nai aafnai Sala/Jehtan/Bhatija chhan), his nature and his past ("tulutulu herera basne Raja ma hoina" bhanne manchhe na ho). So the whole point is that King will certainly defy the mandate from CA election if he is not given the role in the future constitution. In this case the only way to stop such thing from happening is to let Moaists keep their arms with themselves (not surrendering the arms, or not disarming their Army) so that the King would not dare to do that. Do you think that SPA, who could not even dare to sack the 'Chief of Army Staff' even when high level commission found him culprit, would dare to curb the king's power through House Proclaimation if maoists would have already surrendered their arms from the very first day of SPA's government? Of course, not. So, Maoists should not be disarmed at this point at least until the issueance of new constitution. So, what is the meeting point then? Supervise Maoists army's activities from now onwards until the new constitution is drafted by CA representatives and all sides including monarchy agrees to obey the mandate whatever comes, and issued the new constitution making sure that none of the sides influence the election through their armed activities. I know you and some others including Paras or his bhadaa ka tattus like memyselfandnepal will come and vomit here within few minutes. But, this is only the feasible solution and can ensure the future of peaceful Nepal.
