KUDOS TO THE NEPALI PEOPLE... ================================================== NEPAL, REBELS REACH AGREEMENT TO END INSURGENCY By Alex Morales June 16 (Bloomberg) -- Nepal's government reached an agreement with communist rebels aimed at ending their decade-long insurgency, Agence France-Presse reported. An eight-point plan was agreed upon today after a meeting in Kathmandu between rebel leader Prachanda and Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, AFP reported, citing Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula. Prachanda and leaders of the seven-party alliance that governs the Himalayan nation signed the accord, AFP said. ``We've agreed to dissolve the Parliament and the Nepal Communist Party Maoist People's government and on the framing of an interim constitution and the forming of an interim government,'' the leaders said in the document, AFP reported. Koirala's government took power in April after weeks of protests forced King Gyanendra to reinstate democracy.
