This was partly a "Hoshiyar" march to remind the government not to give in to the demand of the India-based Hindu fundamentalist orgs and their Nepali stooges' demand. They were, moreover, seeking official recognition for their NEWA language, which should have been granted ages ago. Likewise the Janjati Adivashis marked yesterday as a "Black Day", to remember the supreme court's past biased historic decision to strike at the spirit of multicultural, multilingual, and multi-religious reality of Nepal by failing to recognize the language demands of various groups of Nepal. These groups want the state to recognize the use of mother languages at local level as well as as medium of instructions at schools. They were also out in support of the government's declaration re: secular Nepal as well as the incumbents not to give into the Hindu fundamentalists!
