Indeed Mr. Brando is a fabled actor. The movie "Godfather" and Marlon Brando are synonym. Arguably, he is credited with the most famous dialog in the history of cinema. (I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse.) Pacino, i.e., Don Michael Corleone's version is little different, but it is obvious that he got it from his dad, the original Don Corleone. (I will make him an offer he can't refuse.) Another movie that was a spellbinder went with the name "On the Waterfront." Mr. Brando was awe-inspiring in that cinema. Amongst many moments in that movie, this scene stood out for me. Brando to his brother Charlie: "You don't understand. I couldaa' had class. I couldaa' been a contender. I couldaa been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am, let's face it. It was you, Charley." Yaha chai----> It was you, TM. Ha ha! Mr. Brando stays on the very elite list. Another one that had lotsaa' class is Clark Gable. "Gone With the Wind" was simply a classic amongst the classics. Another beautiful movie that Mr. Gable graced the screen would be "It Happened One Night." For bollywood freaks, You guys could not have missed out on this movie called "Dil Hein Ki Manta Nahin." Loved/liked it? You are going to like this one better. But since it's colorless, you have to allow about 15 minutes to get comfortable and then it just enwrap you. That bollywood flick is exact carbon copy of this masterpiece, page by page. Of course sans the songs. How about Johnny Lever guys? The guy is blessed with such a face that even gazzilion dollars would not make him "look" rich. But, boy, does he've talent to have us in splits! Paresh Rawal is in class of his own. Keshta Mukharji's ( Hee heyeiiii/ eh he heii (hasda k) drunken laughter was nice. Although, largely been out of the loop these days, but when I really think about it, Indian cinema had better (or at least as good) character artists than actors and actresses themselves. To name a few, Amrish Puri, Kadar Khan, Anupam Kher, Bindu, Om Puri, and others. And regarding Ben Affeleck being in the top list. Ha ha! He is like one hit wonder in hollywood, and that too largely with "Goodwill Hunting" for screenwriting. Else, he is, umm, let's say, Chunky Pandey or Hemanta Birje of "Tarzan" fame. Maybe somewhere in between. (Maybe that was a lil harsh but you get the gist? LOL) But the look at certain individual's choices, I wonder if it is a laundry list of actors/actresses regardless of qualities of their acting. If looks could have had it, Milind Soman, and Arjun Rampal would not have any competitor by long shot. I did see this movie "Malamaal" (new movie) over the weekend as I had no idea which Indian movie is worth watching. This particular movie does not have any hero/heroine per se. But it had Paresh Rawal, Om Puri, Asrani and I knew what I would get. If not a total "Lotpot" moments, it would at least give me few moments of laughter. It was no "Herapheri" but then again it is better than 90% of those crap Indian movies which make you throw the remote and just take a walk. (Can anyone give me like 2-3 good Indian movie to watch (new ones). Did I say "good"? Okay) I wonder why no one is mentioning Mithun Da? This is insane! ;) Astu! IndisGuise:)
