I saw a thread in Sajah about getting 4 wives under the name of religious freedom, which I do not subscribe to. But here is my problem. I am hindu, married with 2 loving kids. But I do not get along with my wife very well these days because she did not bring enough dowry and I also have a mistress. However, I can not divorce my wife under existing laws because there is not enough reason to do so. Can I get rid of this problem by converting into a Muslim and pronouncing Talaq 3 times within a month? Can I argue successfully in court that being a practising Muslim allows me to divorce like this ?
