4 Security Chiefs Suspended; 5 ministers arrested

I do not have much sympathy for those arrested but this is largely a symbolic and political act that does not appear to hold much legal ground. "Making speeches to disturb public peace" is unlikely to withstand judicial scrutiny, which I am sure is bound to happen because Mr Thapa and company, I feel, are bound to knock on the doors of the very courts they treated with contempt. As for the suspensions of the security chiefs, I feel this decision is right and it shows the government has balls. This will be further reinforced if Gen. Pyar Jung Thapa is suspended in the next couple of days which, amongst other things, could pave the way for the Army to come under civilian control.
