Shirish, GP Koirala's demise will be a fatal blow to monarchy. There is no replacement in NC for Koirala's notoriety of being stubbornly monarchist and yet getting away with it even in the pro-republic human sea. As a matter of fact, since pro-republic sentiments started to appear in NC an it's wings, the palace has helped GP Koirala to emerge as a singular leader by keeping him free while jailing pro-republic rivals in strategic times. This could be both reward for Koirala's undying loyalty to monarchy as well as a maneuver to empower a trustworthy ally. In any case, it is only GP Koirala who can say NO to republic and become an unrivalled leader of all including republicans at the same time. If anybody else, even if it is one of Koiralas, tries this, he/she will probably be dragged in the street by the protesters. So, I think, monarchy's future is depending on GP Koirala's life and stamina for this whole year.
