In my opinion, there is no moral equivalence between the abuses of power during democracy and the abuses of power by royalists with one notable exception : the abuse of power to amass personal wealth. If money was taken to dole out favors in return, then all people who engaged in such activity, weather during democracy or during the Panchayat or the period of the King's rule should be taken to task. Due process should be established and followed and appropriate punishment to fit the crime must be meted out to *all* culprits. However, this type of abuse aside, the way the King and those around him have abused power in other forms on a magnitude far greater than the parties before them. Supressing people's right to speak and organize, jailing journalists and opponents of the King, using brute force on unarmed demonstrators are a few examples of such abuses that should not go unpunished. My 2 cents.
