Hi Aaite buro, Its NOT the same visa for UK and Republic of Ireland, as they are separate countries. If you have a UK visa, you can travel to England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland because those four constitute the United Kingdom. But you need a separate visa to travel to Ireland (Republic of Ireland), which got independence from UK in 1922 and is a different country. If you just have an Irish visa, you cannot visit Northern Ireland, Scotland, etc. as they are not a part of Ireland. I had to take a UK visa to travel to London. However, some people go to Northern Ireland without a UK visa from here because its on the same island. But it is illegal to do so and can be risky too. So, if you are planning to visit UK and Republic of Ireland, you need to obtain two separate visas. Hope this helps. Ask more if you have more queries.
