List of people against CA

This is a genuinely undemocratic attitude. Really. If people are against the CA, let them be. If you believe in democracy, you have to be prepared to accept that there are countless others who do not approve of your viewpoints, and being a democract means, as far as I understand the word, learning to live with the people, ideas and attitudes totally different than your own. Of course in democracy you have the rights to make public the names of the people who belong to a different clique than your own, but then you have to realize that there are certain things even in democracy that you have to be mindful of before exercizing your democratic rights. Democracy does not mean irresponsible behaviors, does it? Kura rahyo, people who oppsed the CA. You should be happy to note that Nepali democracy, atleast the diaspora democracy is thriving. There are peope, brave people in minority, who refuse to toe the majority's line. Instead of making fun of these people who signed the petition, have them over for a nice discussion. Learn from them why they don't support what you support and try to persuade them to think/act along your line. If you succeed in that, all the better. Even if you fail, you will learn a thing or two and the reasons that make them not follow you, and again it will help to your advantage. If your prefer web-discussions, then have a civil discussion. Why this name calling of Mandale and this and that? I am sure these people in US and elsewhere are all above 18 balig matadhikar bhayeko nepalis who know what they are doing and have a well developed view of Nepal and its politics. Just because they don't dance to your tune does not mean they are on the wrong side of history, ignorant, anti-democratic and such. Just because you and your friends accept the demand for CA does not mean everyone should rally behind you. Let them have the freedom to choose, without being ridiculed in this public forum for their political viewpoints. It simply doesn't make sense. In my view, CA is still a complex issue. And I believe, its not as easy and uncomplicated as some of you may have imagined. And the leaders themselves haven't really given enough worthy of debating/listening to views on this. As a result, they have failed to persuade some people. They have to be clear on why we need CA and why now? Is it just to avenge their "humiliation" by the King or do they genuinely feel we need it, and if so, what are those genuine reasons? Do they have realistic plans/goals? Are they being played by other forces? Without a clear-cut answers to these questions, of course, some will have a hard time accepting the demands for CA. Of course many people in Nepal are demanding it, but are they demanding it because they know what it is or just because its in vogue? Since everyone is demanding it, maybe I should demand it too kind of attitude is at play here. We should be really mindful in this volatile situation, in my view. Of course in democracy you have to support the majority's opinion, but is the majority's opinion always right, correct and appropriate? What if the majority is in the moment of anger and frustrations is demanding it without realzing its vast political consequences? Call me mandale, but I do believe that we do have to give enough time to these questions before taking sides on the issue.
