An incomplete revolution, no doubt, but if it can produce the same results as a complete revolution with a fraction of the cost in blood and lives, I can understand why people are celebrating. Monarchy in Nepal, as we knew it, is dead. There is still the possibility of a republic resulting from the constituent assembly but even if Monarchy stays, it will be a severly curtailed one that, hopefully, will survive at the pleasure of the people and parliament. I bet you this time around, unlike in 1990, Girija Koirala is not going to fight to have constitutional monarchy as one of the unchangeable clauses of the constitution. Pashupati Nath seems to finally have answered all the prayers of "kalyan garun" - at least for now :)
