But if the monarch does not agree, they will continue their campaign to overthrow the "stubborn king", a spokesman for the Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist told the BBC Hindi service. The Maoists have also asked the Indian government to clarify its stand on the kind of democracy it wanted in Nepal. "We are clearly saying that we want to be a part of the new mainstream, which would have to be through the process of formation of the constituent assembly, and then the people of Nepal would decide what kind of democracy they want. "If this happens, we are ready to give up arms and join the peaceful democratic set up," spokesman Krishna Bahadur Mahara said in an interview from an undisclosed location.
