It is unfortunate that we could not introduce a person so cheerful, optimistic and compassionate in a better circumstance. Throughout these many years of friendship he has endlessly won our hearts with his witty "shayaris", empathetic spirit, and has personally impressed me with his enduring optimism. His motivation to help fellow Nepalese is unequaled. There are many of us whose memories with Pranav began at the airport, where he volunteered to pick up new Nepali students with that big smile on his face. Recently, Pranav was admitted to Overland Park Hospital in Kansas City to get treated for a rare infection. As of now, his condition is very CRITICAL. The infection has spread throughout his body including his heart, lungs, liver and kidneys. His brain has suffered a condition called "sinus thrombosis". Doctors say that it is difficult to cure this condition when only a minimal dose of antibiotics can be administered to him in order to prevent further damage to his kidneys. We felt helpless to see a person as enthusiastic and as motivated as Pranav lying on the hospital bed fighting for his life. This is an appeal on his behalf to pray for him and for his family during this difficult time. This is also an appeal to every one of you to DONATE whatever amount you can to help him cover the medical expenses but more importantly to bring his family members here to care for him.
