I accept one should have right to speak any language. Should i use hindi to talk to fellow nepalese in this board which is meant to be for nepalese. Why dont u know hindi is becoming a threat. Have you listened so called ministers of nepal talking in hindi in indian news channel.which is ludicrous. I know it is down to personal choice, i am never against it. use it when u need it. As far as i not knowing language differences is concerned, let me tell you i am proficient in nepali, english, spanish, italian and spanish. All i said was talk in either nepali or english(as web is mostly based on english) while talking to fellow nepalse. Why should we resort to hindi. I am in liverpool in england. many of the people havent even heard of country called nepal. They say " oh you are from nepal, it is india isnt it". It may not hurt you it definitely hurts me. We are battling with our identity crisis. Hindi is defintely a threat. I just dont talk with my fellow nepalese in hindi because it will be as if accepting the fact we are from india. Talk in hindi when you are talking to indian. Talk in spanish when you are talking to spanish or latin american. There is no problem . Do anybody even know Wales they have own national language but almost lost it because of the influence of england.Same thing with scotland. We can relive our history through books, novels poems of great nepali writers. If nepali dont survive so does our history.This problem may not seem pronounced at the moment but anybody knows about one third of nepalese population live outside nepal. There is every possibility that they may start to speak hindi more often because indians are everywhere. This website is for nepali community living outside nepal. If we dont do this small things right then who will.
