i think it is like this.. even if you love her/him more than your life, you have ask yourself one question. Can you live with this person the rest of your life or the next moment of every moment of your life, happily? if the answer is yes, then you should do everything possible to stay. if the answer is no, then let him/her go. that way you both are happy, although sad for a while but happy for a long time.
