I agree with you guys! These corrupt leaders should not be allowed to come back. It is sad that leaders like Girija, Deuba and MKN can not live with these corrupt leaders. Here is a letter I found in Mero Sansar by Umesh Shrestha: Dumre Bhansar ------ Letter to US Ambassador (Boycott disgraced Corrupt Leaders) Written by Sarada Khanal Tuesday, 28 February 2006 Honorable Ambassador James F. Moriarty US ambassador to Nepal Kathmandu, Nepal I have been following your endeavors to bring a prudent solution for current political crisis in Nepal. You are doing excellent job there. My sincere kudos to you! Today's news from Nepal about your breakfast meeting with disgraced Nepali politician Govinda Raj Joshi surprised me greatly. I am sure you are aware about his on-going corruption charges brought by The Commission for the investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) and his recent embarrassing loss in Nepali Congress party election. Mr. Joshi held various posts for 12 years; he misused authority and collected unknown amount of wealth, which are dispersed in Nepal, India, Australia and USA under different accounts. CIAA is looking into Mr. Joshi's elder son, who is currently in USA if he helped to hide the illegal wealth. Similarly, his youngest son had gone to Australia via India [secretly] to avoid prosecution in Nepal; and most of his relatives [approximately 10] are under CIAA investigation. That is the reality. It is my humble request to you that please boycott these corrupt opportunistic leaders, who misused democracy for their interest. These leaders are one of the major reasons for current political predicament. I still can not believe why Mr. Joshi, who is not even allowed to attend public meeting/protest organized by his own party, was invited for a critical meeting with US ambassador. I am a true democrat and I am speechless by the news. Your interaction with these kinds of corrupt leaders has sent wrong messages. These disgraced leaders are trying to rehabilitate their image. And they are achieving it by such opportunity, which Mr. Joshi got this morning – sitting next to US Ambassador. These people are worthless and disgrace for the country. They do not have any public support. Mr. Ambassador, if you want to help democratic forces in Nepal, kindly boycott these corrupt leaders. Sincerely Sarada Khanal Newark, NJ USA Date: 2/23/2006
