First of the title of the thread misrepresents what the policy is being created for. Not that long ago when a student was killed in a gas station, people raised the question of how Nepalese need to make sure they can pay for what they come here for. I think its high time government put restrictions on who and how one gets a visa. I know several people who show someone else's property/money as their own and "trick" the colleges abroad for an I-20/acceptance documents. I think that should be discouraged and may be this policy will do that. I also know of several people who have had criminal background in Nepal and leave the country as a student to escape the punishment. Getting a "no objection letter" should curb those incidents too. Another issue, it will take under consideration will be black marketting of the dollar. The way foreign currency is leaving Nepal is very scary. As far as I can understand, this policy of "No objection letter" has been there. I remember getting a letter before I got to go abroad. So don't make it a big deal. Its good for you. Only make it a big deal if you have something to hide and you are not sure if you can get a legitimate "no objection letter" from the ministry of education.
