Here comes the newsletter for this week. Weekly Newsletter What a week in the Nepali NBA fantasy land. Some records were made, others were broken. Some heavy weights lost to not so favorite, while one simply crushed its opponent. It was definitely an interesting week. It has been a very competitive league in the sense that even the second to last place team is only 10 games behind the 6th positioned team. Two winning weeks of 7-2, and that team will be right into the playoff contention. This week saw a trade between Bandipur Newaz and Hoop2Hoop. Pau Gasol, an all star, was traded for Mike James and Tyson Prince, both of who are decent starters. Jury is still out as to who got the best but my conviction tells me Bandipur may well have come on top of this trade. 1. Hukka Nepali: This team has regained its composure after two back to back losses against Lakers4ever and Incognito Kanchi few weeks ago. Albeit, this week's win was expected considering the opponent it was facing, 9-0 win took everyone by surprise. Sunday afternoon's calculated line up definitely helped. 2. Bandipur Newaz: The league record doesn't do justice to the depth of this team. It has the most intimidating lineups I have ever seen and is easily any fantasy owner's envy. If the combo of AK47, Iverson, Bibby, Mobly and C. Paul doesn't excite you then just wait until Camby, Boozer and Stoudemire come back in the line up. The million dollar question though is "When are they all coming back (if they are coming back)?" 3. KG4MVP: After a 1-2 start, this team has gone 6-0-1. Areanas has been playing the best basketball of his career and Gerald Wallace has been big to give this team the steal and block categories most of the weeks. 4. Incognito Kanchi: This has been the most consistent team in the league so far in the sense that it is the only team that hasn't lost two games in a row yet. Next few weeks easy schedule may allow the team to gain the top spot again. 5. Nepali Celtics: This team has resurrected after the slow 1-4 start. It has gone 4-1 since then and has defeated the league heavy weights such as Bandipur Newaz, Incognito Kanchi and Handigaon Jatra along the way. At the same time, this team is also very injury prone and that may be a huge liability come playoff time. 6. Handigaon Jatra: This team has been having a rollercoaster season, winning in bunches and then loosing again in bunches. However, the return of Brand and Okafur should stabilize the team. 3-pt shooting has been the major strength so far into the season and Krover and Richardson seem poised to keep things that way. 7. Flash: Now comes my favorite team. What is there to not like about this team? After all, this was my top early season pick. After a rough 0-3 start, it has gone 5-2 and is well within the playoff reach. Both Wade and Carter have been phenomenal of late. Next few weeks schedule against Hukka Nepali, Bandipur Newaz, Incognito Kanchi and Nepali Celtics should make or break its playoff aspirations. 8. KTM Wolvez: I so much wanted to put KTM Hammer here based on the regular season standing but then I couldn't "UN-notice" the late surge of KTM Wolves. It is the most active team in the league ; daily "additions and deletions" of players is the new mantra in Wolvez land and if past three weeks is any indication, the mantra seems to be paying off quite well. It is only 7 games behind the 6th positioned Nepali Celtics. 9. KTM Hammer: This team has been more like a sinking ship of late and the ongoing injuries to Miles, Mcgrady and Huges aren't helping. It has lost 5 out of the last 6 games and must find trading partners for these injured players to win now and not dig too big of a hole for the playoff birth. 10. Lazimpat Kings: With three Pistons starters in the lineup, it seems that the L. Kings success is directly tied to number of games Detroit plays in any given week. 11. Lakers4ever: This team will be remembered most for the magnificent win it scored against the then unbeaten Hukka Nepali and snapped its 6 game winning streak. And if that wasn't enough, it refused to give a "W" and tied the game against the red hot KG4MVP which was also riding its own 6 game winning streak. But then the fact remains, it is the second to last team and the combo of Kobe & Shaq alone is unlikely to take it to the promised land. 12. hoop2hoop: This team has nowhere but up to go. After an impressive 3-0 start, it has simply nosedived and is being distanced from the playoff hunt as the weeks pass by. The trade of Gasol may bring extra rebounds and blocks but still not enough to win over those categories on a weekly basis. Watch out for more trade offers from this team!!!!!!!!! ****************************************************
