The genuine and traditional qua-ti (warm soup) cooked by Newars is not vegetarian. To bring out the taste of qua-ti, bone called "Twanna" cancellous bones and some with marrow are used along with some muscles and tendons of buffalos. Bone along with fat makes qua-ti wonderful. Also common are the usage of feet of goat containing skin. This will make the qua-ti more nutritious and GARAM thing in the winter. The above reciepe is a deviation from the original and its better to jhannu when the beans are cooked in desired consistency for preservation of the scent and taste. Boiling something for the prolonged period will make the essence evaporated.
