We had a lot of problems even without democracy--people were arrested and killed at random and there was enough corruption taking place even then. After democracy, the country improved roads, built bridges in villages and improved literacy rates but some political leaders were very corrupt and made a lot of money at the expense of the country ex: Khum Bahadur Khadka, Chiranjeevi Wagle, Bijay Gachedar and Govinda Raj Joshi..so you see..it is the people and NOT democracy that is to blame.
