FREEDOM....yup a strong word. For the aristocrats of opressed countries, they believe freedom for all is bad, because it would strip away their power and wealth. Without freedom, there is no morality. Being able to evaluate a situation in reference to one's moral code and then choose the appropriate course of action must be volitional. If it is not chosen then nothing distinguishes it from any other act and thus morality has no value.
Freedom ranks as first and formost among moral values for many. Without it, all the others(right to live, etc.) are meaningless, unless they exist in the context of freedom.
