Then it is okay to be ignorant. But being ignorant can be of variable types. If it is okay to hate but you fall under the catagory of ignorant if you hate someone/something without knowing them. If you hate them despite you know them, that's again ignorance of not acknowledging the existence of difference in things, people and their ideas in our society.
