When I awoke this morning I raised my head towards the sky And as I said my thank you's A tear rolled from my eye. I thank you for this, another day You give to all my friends and me I also thank you for my past A task you did for free. At times I thought you asked too much of me But that was only when I was feeling low And I'm sure you made allowances When, my better side I did not show. I know you guide me through each day For which I am truly grateful Without your love and guidance My life would be so dull. And as another day comes to an end Towards the sky I stare I wipe away another tear As I offer up another thank you prayer.
