In context of nepal, where merely not even 40% of the people are literate, how can the people with this level of intellectuality select the right person? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I dont think so - literacy is no garauntee that the populace will be given (or if given will want to) enough to inform themselves of the issues at hand...Much as I hate to say it - I think the real key to a democracy is an independent and (at least relatively) impartial news media - it is no coincidence that the majority of repressive regimes on this planet strictly control their news distribution services. Literacy has little to do with it...the world is all about "spin control" and whoever controls the media, controls the masses. I fear that Democracy is in jeopardy as a result...so many people are lazy and let the media do their thinking for them.
