The factor you have failed to accept here is ignorance. Ignorance is such a poison in democracy that what people think is good for them actually might be just the opposite. If you are allowed to pick the best apples from a vineyard and if you dont know what attributes you need to look for that, you might be picking something that Mr. X said was best. But at the same time you lose your "democracy." So there, you want such idiocy in the name of democracy?
