I just have one statement to you then, how did this panacea to all social problems fail in Nepal, even when we took a stab at it for 15 years? One of the prime attributes of democracy is government by people, as you have pointed out. What if the people we are talking about has no idea of governing? Let me simply things for you. Lets say you are married and have six kids. Lets say you are such a proponent of democracy that you said I will run my family in a democratic way. Now the question is would you let your kids decide how to run your family? Where to invest and where to put your savings? Would you? I will be waiting to hear from you about how rediculous this example is. But, whether you agree or not, for the people to be able govern, you need able/capable people. Quantity (vote) does not always justify democracy, its the quality that matters too. Look at Nepal, if the prices go up, students come out in the streets and burn vehicles. is this the kind of governing you want? No to democracy! hell no!!!
